Castello di Miolans

Medieval fortress built on a hill above the plain of Combe de Savoie on the Italian-French border. In later centuries, it served as a prison. Among others, the Marquis de Sade, who made a daring escape from its walls, was held here. Currently, visitors can see partially ruined rooms, towers and walls.
