Lpo de Ile Grande

The 280-hectare reserve was established in 1912 in order to save the hunters from complete extermination of the puffins nesting here. Bird enthusiasts managed to obtain a ban on hunting and selecting eggs, so now there are about 200 pairs of these nice birds living here - the last large colony in France.
