Castillo de Branféré

The Branféré Castle in Le Guerno is a historic residence in the heart of the Branféré zoo and botanical gardens. It was built in the mid-nineteenth century. In the 1930s it became the property of Paul Jourde and his wife Elena, who - inspired by a trip to India and the animal park visited there by Maharaja Kutch - decided to transform the property into a zoo.
