Castillo de Ancenis

The defensive structure from the end of the 10th century was originally a knight's residence - a fortified household, surrounded by an earthen rampart and a wooden palisade. In the 15th century, the castle was surrounded by a high wall and a moat over which a drawbridge was placed. The building has retained its Gothic features, while its furnishings date back to the Renaissance.
