Cuevas de Zugarramurdi

Cuevas de Zugarramurdi is a complex of prehistoric caves, famous for the largest and cruelest witch trial carried out by the Spanish Inquisition in the 17th century. Out of 18 women tortured in this place, 6 were burned alive at the stake. Today, this monstrous story can be learned in detail at the Zugarramurdi Witches Museum.
