Museo Karen Blixen Rungstedlund
Nombre local: Karen Blixen Museum Rungstedlund
The museum is dedicated to the life and work of Karen Blixen, author of, among others "Goodbye to Africa". It is located in the house where the writer spent most of her life - childhood and the period after her return from Kenya. The building is largely unchanged, so you can see the conditions in which the writer lived and worked.
Most of the furniture is original equipment from the times when the house was furnished by Blixen's parents. Her father, Wilhelm Dinesen, purchased the property in 1879. At that time, the residence consisted of four wings, but two of them burned down at the end of the 19th century and were never rebuilt. It is worth paying attention to the bedroom, where you can also see everyday items and clothes, as well as two living rooms.
The property is surrounded by a park which is now a protected bird sanctuary. There are flower gardens and the writer's grave there.
