El museo al aire libre
Nombre local: Frilandsmuseet
The open-air museum was established in 1897, and it was moved to its present location four years later. It is one of the oldest and one of the largest open-air museums. There are over 100 buildings from rural areas and dating from 1650-1950.
All houses and farm buildings are original buildings, transferred to the open-air museum from various parts of Denmark, including numerous small and remote islands. You can also see houses from Bornholm, South Schleswig, Swedish Skåne and the Faroe Islands. An interesting fact is a hut from the island of Læsø covered with thatched seaweed.
In addition, there are also 25 historic gardens and cultural landscapes. In the farms, you can see livestock representing the old Danish Danish breeds.
