Located on the outskirts of the city, the convent complex of San Juan de Duero is an example of Castilian Romanesque architecture. The history of the temple dates back to the 13th century, and today it is an important monument. The memory of the monastery is contained in one of the most popular stories of the Spanish romantic writer Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer.
