Parque natural de Somiedo is a protected landscape area, a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 2000. It covers an area of 291 km². Its highest point is El Cornón (2,194 meters above sea level). The largest brown bear population in Spain lives in the park. Tourists can use a network of well-prepared hiking trails of varying difficulty.
