Parc Natural del Penyal d'Ifac (the smallest park in Europe) includes a huge limestone rock in the Mediterranean Sea, which is over 330 meters high. The steep slope massif is connected to the mainland by a detritus isthmus (it was created as a result of the accumulation of rock debris, various minerals and the remains of living organisms). Thanks to a 50-meter tunnel drilled in one of the walls in 1918, tourists can reach the path leading to the top.
