Parque Nacional Monfragüe is a national park located in the province of Cáceres. In 2003, it was recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve. Its area is crossed by two rivers - Tajo and Tiétar. Paintings from the Copper Age, as well as Bronze and Iron Age have been discovered in the local caves. It is dominated by sclerophyllous vegetation typical of the Mediterranean region.
The park is home to representatives of the chestnut vulture population.
