The museum is dedicated to the history of the island. The center is located in the old town of Largo Almirante Reis, opposite the Monte cable car. His main task is to present the island's culture, from its formation to the present day.
The Madeira Story Center interactive museum allows visitors to go back in time on a virtual journey. At the very beginning, tourists become witnesses of a volcanic eruption that directly contributed to the formation of the island. Later, the exhibition introduces the history of the exploration of Madeira, the era of its heyday, even mentioning attacks of wild pirates.
The center also has a multifunctional panoramic terrace equipped with telescopes providing great views of the Old Town, a themed cafe and a souvenir shop from the island. The terrace restaurant, which seats 200 people, offers traditional local culinary specialties.
