Stutthof in Sztutowo is a German Nazi concentration camp which operated here from 2nd September 1939 to 9th May 1945. It was the first and the longest operating concentration camp in the area which today belongs to Poland. The most important monuments are the Old Camp, gas chamber, military command, commemoration place, and post-camp archives.

Stutthof was established in the city of Sztutowo, around 36km from Gdańsk. It is estimated that the total number of people from 28 countries who were imprisoned here amounts to 110-127 thousand. The most numerous group was Jews. The concentration camp consisted of six departments: Department I - headquarters, Department II - political department, Department III - camp, Department IV - administrative and economic department, Department V - camp doctor, Department VI - training of the crew.

The museum was established here on 12th March 1962 and covers around 20ha of the camp. The commemoration place consists of reconstructions of crematories, empty field of the New Camp and the Jewish Camp, and also the monument carved by Wiktor Tołkin.
