St. Procopius Church is a unique building from the 13th century built entirely of granite. It is located next to the basilica from the same period. The building has a circular shape and is complemented with two apses, the square presbytery, and the circular tower with a matroneum.
The interior is not plastered except for a small part of the ceiling with the groin vault, typical for buildings from the then times. Uneven, rough granite blocks can be spotted on the walls. Apart from the simple altar, the 12th-century font, and the reconstruction of the Romanesque tympanum from the 12th century, the interior does not consist of any paintings and sculptures. The wooden spiral staircase leads to the matroneum. In the past, the church was extended, however, two renovations at the end of the 19th century and after World War II brought back its original look. What is puzzling is the location of the small prayer house next to a much larger church. Because of the recently discovered empty tomb, it is assumed that it served as a grave chapel. Nowadays, the building is considered one of the largest Romanesque church in PolandLess
