Chochołowskie Rising Museum is located in Chocholow, in one of the old wooden buildings, which are "Podhale pearl". This museum, which is a branch of the Tatra Museum, has existed since 1978 and collects both exhibits related to the Chocholow uprising as well as objects presenting the Tatra folk culture.
The cottage at Chocholow under number 75 is according to the Podhale tradition divided into: "black" room, "white room", chamber and high above the chamber. In this cottage there are two expositions: historical and ethnographic.
The historical exhibition is devoted to the Chocholow uprising, which took place in Chocholow in 1846. This exposition includes, among others. The weapons used by the insurgents during the fight, the cartouche of the insurgency calendar, or the list of insurgents.
Ethnographic exposition presents the history of Chocho and the life of its inhabitants in the nineteenth century. The exhibition includes everyday objects, furniture and ceramics, and paintings typical of the Podhale region.
