The public beach is located on the Dead Sea, adjacent to the Judean Desert. It is covered with sand interspersed with stones. There are showers, toilets and changing rooms. You can also rent beach equipment. There are several beach bars here, and in the immediate vicinity there is a large picnic and camping area.
The water is very warm here. In winter, its temperature is around 20C, and in summer it reaches 32C. It is also intensely salty, its salinity reaches 34%, which is why it pushes the swimmers upwards during submersion attempts. After swimming, it is worth plunging into the black mud on the southern shore, known for its healing properties.
