Jameson Distillery is a distillery complex open to the public. The tour begins with an audiovisual presentation recreating the history of whiskey in Ireland. Visitors are then led through an old distillery where you can see old ovens, mills, malts and a water wheel. There is also a distiller hut and warehouses. The tour ends with a Jameson whiskey tasting and a comparative whiskey tasting with an explanation of the differences between the Irish, Scotch and bourbon versions.
Jameson Distillery is one of the most modern distilleries in the world and its production areas are connected via fiber optic networks. The plant in Midleton, with a production capacity of 64 million liters per year, is the largest in Ireland. The distillery has three 75,000 liter distillers and three columns, which are used in three combinations to produce different types of whiskey.
