The Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum are located in the south of County Kilkenny in central Ireland. It is a complex of over a dozen theme gardens and a dendrological park growing in the area of the former Woodstock residence. Here you can see, among others, a rose garden, an alley of yews, terraced gardens and beautiful, Victorian greenhouses.
The gardens were established around the mid-17th century on the Woodstock estate. Their greatest development took place in the Victorian times, when there were terrace gardens that still exist today, and geometric gardens fenced with stone walls. At the beginning of the 21st century, the property underwent a major renovation combined with the renovation of the gardens and, where necessary, their re-arrangement.
One of the few Irish arboretums is found in the Woodstock Gardens. You can see trees and shrubs imported from Asia and South America. The themed gardens show the diversity of 18th and 19th century garden art. The park is decorated with beautiful pavilions made of bent metal, used for growing tropical plants.
