The Donegal County Railway Heritage Center is a museum dedicated to the documentation and dissemination of knowledge about the narrow gauge railways that operated in the region from 1863 to 1959. It is housed in the former Donegal railway station building. Locomotives, wagons and railway station equipment are gathered here.
County Donegal's narrow gauge railways were operated by the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee. Their activity began in 1863. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the narrow-gauge railroads were the only form of communication in some places. After 1959 and the line was closed, the buildings and rolling stock were deteriorating. It was not until 1995 that a museum documenting its functioning was established.
The museum's collection includes several old steam and diesel locomotives, carriages and track maintenance devices. In the station building, old timetables, costumes, tickets and station equipment are gathered.
