Aasleagh Falls is about a kilometer north of the border that separates the counties of Galway and Mayo, near the village of Leenane. It is a not too high, but picturesque cascade situated among the bare hills and vast meadows.
The waterfall is often visited by tourists. A short walking trail leads to it from the parking lot on the R335 road. It is also a famous place among salmon anglers. The Erriff River, which is swift in this place, is valued as a fishing point for these precious fish.
The waterfall is quite wide, but relatively low. It is made up of several steps that make the water sparkle beautifully over the stones.
