Hermitage Beach
Local name: Plage de l'Hermitage
Hermitage Beach is located on the coast of Saint-Paul. It stretches for 7 km and is the largest beach on the island. It is covered with soft, white sand, which contrasts with the azure color of the water. It is a good place for families with children, because the water here is shallow and warm - its temperature ranges from 22 to 30 ° C.
Hermitage Beach is surrounded by a natural coral reef, which makes the water very calm here. Due to the fact that it is also crystal clear, it is a great place for snorkeling. Along 40 km of the coastline, the Marine Nature Reserve was established here.
There is good infrastructure on the beach. There are toilets, showers and changing rooms here, and safety is supervised by teams of lifeguards. There are also numerous bars and restaurants along the beach.
