The group of sculptures depicts Apollo's four-horse chariot emerging from the water, around which are tritons. The sculpture refers to the myth of the Greek god of the sun and is the focal point of the extensive swimming pool. Its construction was commissioned by Louis XIV, known as King of the Sun.
