Reignac Rock Fortress is located in the mountainous area of Perigord. It is the only facility of this type in France. Inside the rooms in the rock caves, the decor from the late Middle Ages was recreated.
The fortress was built in the fourteenth century. From the outside, it looks like a building facade stuck to the rocks. After entering, however, you can see that it is much more extensive. The corridors lead deeper into the rocks, where there are further living and utility rooms. They were arranged in accordance with the spirit of the era. You can see furniture, dishes, weapons, farm tools and medieval costumes. There is also a collection of torture tools used from the Middle Ages to the present day.
