The first temple was built here in the 4th century AD, which was replaced in the 9th century by the Romanesque cathedral, and in the 13th century by a Gothic cathedral, which was expanded for the next 400 years. Here are the mortal remains of St. Bernard of Clairvaux. The oldest part of today's building is the 13th-century choir and the famous stained-glass windows from the 12th-19th century with an area of 1500 m2.
