Sanctuary of Our Lady of Bétharram

The pilgrimage chapel was built on the site where Our Lady was to save a drowning girl from Gave de Pau. The miraculous event took place in the 15th century - 200 years later, a chapel that has survived to this day was erected to provide a decent service to numerous pilgrimages. At the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, the Way of the Cross, consisting of 15 chapels, was built in the vicinity of the temple.
