Zoo Amnéville
Local name: Zoo d'Amnéville
The Amnéville Zoological Garden is located in the French part of the Moselle Valley. He is a member of the World Association of Zoological Gardens and Aquariums. It covers an area of 18 ha and ca. 2,000 animals out of 360 species are bred here. You can find here, among others gorillas, orangutans, tapirs, rhinos, lynxes, elephants, white lions. tigers, sea lions, and parrots.
In the Zoological Garden in Amnéville, several sections were created representing various climate zones and animal habitats: African Plain, Sea Lion Bay, Amazon Jungle, Peruvian Gulf, Gorilla Camp, Tropical Vivarium, Orangutan Jungle, Sky Predators, Tiger World, Bear Forest.
The Amnéville Zoological Garden was established in 1986. Among the species presented, orangutans are the most important, because they are one of the few representatives of this species in French zoos. Vivarium also plays an important role, covering an area of approximately 1,000 m2.
