The Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Natural Park is located in the Chevreuse Valley - the Yvette River Valley, Rambouillet Forest and the Hurepoix Plateau. In addition to natural values, this region is characterized by a rich historical heritage. There are historic castles, churches, residences and feudal fortifications.
The Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Natural Park is located in the Paris region and remains one of the main regions with a predominance of rural and forested areas in the Île-de-France area. The park is alternated with plateaus crossed by valleys, where the rivers Yvette, Rémarde, Mauldre and their tributaries flow. Many hiking trails have been created here.
The park was established in 1985 and was the first regional nature park in Île-de-France. Monuments include the castles of Dampierre, Madeleine, Breteuil, Janvry, the abbey of Port-Royal des Champs and Vaux de Cernay, houses of Jean Monnet and Louis Carré, the estate of Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard and the Maurice Ravel Museum.
