Bressuire Castle

Already in the 2nd century BC there was a large settlement here, on the site of which in the 10th century a stronghold was built, surrounded by three rings of defensive walls: the outer one was 38 towers and 700 m long, the inner one was protected by eight towers. The oldest preserved parts of the building date back to the 12th and 13th centuries.
