The neo-Gothic Alexander Church in Tampere is located in the city center. It was built of brick in the years 1880-1881 according to the design of the Finnish architect Theodor Decker. It is named after the Russian Tsar Alexander II and is surrounded by Pyynikki Church Park, formerly serving as a cemetery.
While visiting the Alexander Church, it is worth seeing the painting on the main altar, made in 1883 by the Finnish painter Alexandra Frosterus-Såltin. From the outside, attention is drawn to the façade dominated by large, round windows and pillars.
