The Finnish Parliament is housed in a historic building, built between 1926 and 1931 just off Mannerheimint, Helsinki's main street. The architecture of the building is a combination of the neoclassical style and modernism from the beginning of the 20th century. From the outside, the façade is decorated with 14 columns in the Corinthian style.
The building has 6 floors and underground spaces. The individual floors are connected by white marble stairs and paternoster lifts. On the ground floor there is a spacious hall, a parliamentary restaurant and the president's representative rooms. The plenary and conference rooms are located on the first floor, followed by parliamentary offices, parliamentary groups offices and smaller meeting rooms.
The Parliament can be visited with a guide on selected days. At certain times, you can also watch the debates of the parliament from one of the balconies.
