Medjimurska County is sandwiched between the borders of Hungary and Slovenia. It is an agricultural region in which a lot of vine is grown. Rural tourism based on agrotourism farms and bicycle tourism dominates here.

Medimurje stretches between the valleys of Dray and Mury. It is a hilly area, which on the west side rests on the foothills of the Julian Alps. The conditions and soils are perfect for viticulture. The culture of the region is heavily influenced by Hungary, which is manifested in, among others in the architecture of the local villages and towns and in local cuisine.

Sveti Martin thermal bath is a place often visited by tourists. There is a large complex of open and indoor swimming pools with warm mineral waters as well as a spa and wellness center.
