Boyacá is a small town situated among mountainous landscapes, full of lakes and picturesque valleys. Its buildings from the colonial times allow you to see what the life of the inhabitants of this area looked like in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The town is small and has only a few hundred inhabitants. While visiting Boyacá, it is worth seeing the local neo-Gothic church and the low, one and two-story tiled houses. Every year, the San Isidro festival is held in the main square and the harvest is celebrated. You can then take part in the parade and watch the performances of local folk groups.
The Tota Lake is the biggest attraction in the Boyacá area. They are surrounded by low, partly forested hills. On one of its shores there is a White Beach covered with light sand. It is a good place to hang out with a pier, a boat rental and a few bars nearby.
