Alto Paraíso de Goiás is a tourist town located in the vicinity of the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, one of the main areas of mountain hiking, active tourism and ecotourism in Brazil.
The city has a well-developed accommodation and catering infrastructure, which is growing more and more every year. Since 2001, when the park was placed on the UNESCO list, interest in it has been growing, and tourists come here tempted by beautiful mountain views, numerous waterfalls and untouched nature.
Alto Paraíso de Goiás is surrounded by landscape and nature attractions. They can be explored on foot or by off-road vehicles on winding roads without asphalt surface. The main attraction of this area, Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park is a combination of rocky mountains, deep river valleys and villages hidden among forests. Waterfalls are a great wealth of this region. The most famous are the Almécegas I and II waterfall and the Carioquinhas waterfall, but there are also several dozen other cascades here.
A very picturesque place in the surroundings of Alto Paraíso de Goiás is the Valley of the Moon with fantastic rock formations and numerous steps on the river flowing through it. It is a very popular attraction of the Alto Paraíso de Goiás and the destination of numerous excursions.
