The temple and the adjacent hospital were built in the 13th century. The cult of the miraculous statue of Our Lady by Michelangelo quickly developed. Currently, the exhibition shown in the temple offers valuable votive offerings - paintings, sculptures, tapestries and an exclusive collection of silverware.
