The triumphal arch was built in 1765 on the occasion of the wedding of Archduke Leopold with the Spanish princess Maria Luiza. The decorations on the south side of the arch are dedicated to the bride and groom. In turn, the northern part is a tribute to the archduke's father who died at the same time.
