Heiligtum Unserer Lieben Frau von Las Nieves

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Las Nieves is located in Santa Cruz de la Palma. There is kept and venerated the miraculous figure of Our Lady of Snow, the patron saint of La Palma. The sculpture measures 83 cm in height. It comes from XIV. and most likely was made by the sculptor Lorenzo Mercadante.

In the Sanctuary there is a treasury with about a thousand votive objects made of steel, silver and gold, and a valuable collection of sacred art. You can see sacred vessels, altars made of gilded wood and a silver embossed altar-throne from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Of particular note is the collection of Flemish sculptures, including the statue of Archangel Michael, originally belonging to the Royal Monastery of the Immaculate Conception located in Santa Cruz de La Palma.
