The 13th-century castle retained its defensive functions until the middle of the 17th century - it was stormed for the last time during the uprising of Franciszek II Rakoczy. At the end of the 19th century, it was rebuilt in the romantic style, as evidenced by the tower towering over the building that has survived to this day.
