Established in 1981, the museum of modern art is part of Umeå University with the aim of presenting Swedish and world modern art. Lectures, film screenings and concerts are also organized here. Since 2012, the facility has had a new headquarters, the building of which was designed by the team of the famous Danish architect Henning Larsen.
