KARLSKRONASchweden
Rosenbom
Lokaler Name: Rosenbom
The Rosenbom is a wooden figure standing in front of the Admiralty Church in the city of Karlskrona. The original sculpture dates from the end of the 18th century and is kept inside the temple, while the statue in front of the church is a replica made in 1956.
The life-size figure shows an elderly man dressed in a colorful garment, characteristic of sailors from the mid-18th century. The sculpture acts as a money box - under the hat there is a hole where donations can be thrown for the poor and needy.
