Marienkirche

St. Mary's Church is located in the center of Helsingborg. It was established in the 12th century, which makes it the oldest church in the city. Initially built in the Romanesque style, it was rebuilt in the Gothic style in the 15th century, and in the 19th century the lead roof was changed to copper and the entire building was restored.

The church has a historic baptismal font from the 14th century, made of Gotland limestone and additionally decorated with a brass canopy added in the 17th century. On the 15th-century polyptych, you can see scenes from the lives of Jesus and Mary. During Advent, they are transformed into a series of scenes from Jesus' entry into Jerusalem until the Ascension, and on Good Friday they depict the apostles and saints.

It is worth paying attention to the Renaissance pulpit from the beginning of the 17th century, whose lectern is decorated with biblical scenes, as well as to the 20th-century stained glass windows by three Swedish artists - Erik Olsson, Einar Forseth, Ralph Bergholtz and Martin Emond.
