The most famous Swedish wooden building is also one of the oldest museums. The building became famous thanks to the visit of Gustav Vasa in 1520 - the future king of Sweden called for an uprising against Danish rule. In 1758, Jacob Brandberg, the then owner of Ornässtugan, opened a museum commemorating the king's visit.
