Oporów Schlosspark
Lokaler Name: Park zamkowy Oporów
The 10-hectare park is surrounded by the Gothic Castle in Oporów. It has its own water network (consisting of two ponds and the castle moat connected with the Słudwia river). There are also numerous walking paths, a large clearing, as well as historic sculptures and buildings in the park.
The chateau park was probably established in the 17th century, perhaps on the remains of an older Renaissance garden. Over the years, a variety of tree species have been imported here, including rarer specimens, such as American linden, purple beech, black moss or Canadian clump.
An architectural curiosity of the park are stone stairs with two sculptures of lions located by the moat. There are two pavilions built in the 19th century by the then owners of the castle (the Orsetti family) - the Swiss House and the Neo-Gothic House.
