Kirche St. Adalbert

Lokaler Name: Kościół św. Wojciecha

The neo-Gothic church of St. Wojciech in Szczawnica was built in the years 1882–1892 according to the design of Stanisław Eljasz-Radzikowski. The interior of the temple is also kept in the neo-Gothic style. It comes mainly from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

During a visit to the church, it is worth paying attention to the main altar from 1892 and four side altars and a pulpit from the end of the 1890s. There is also a stone baptismal font and an eighteen-voice organ made in 1895 by Tomasz Fell, organ builder from Szczyrzyc. .

As an interesting fact, it is possible to mention the fact that in the attic of the temple lives a colony of the lesser horseshoe bat, under protection, one of the smallest bats found in Poland.
