The Riga Art Museum is an institution whose origins date back to the second half of the 19th century. The foundations of the collections, which are presented to this day, were already laid back then. In the years 1903-1905 the museum received a new, specially designed neoclassical building with extensive exhibition areas. Today, they present works of Latvian art from the 18th century to the beginning of the 21st century, as well as works by artists from Russia and other Baltic countries.
