Asinara-Nationalpark
Lokaler Name: Parco Nazionale dell'Asinara
National park covering the area of the island of Asinara off the coast of Sardinia. The island is hilly and has a very diverse coastline full of coves and peninsulas. Its only town, Cala d'Olivia, is located on the coast.
In the thickets and groves that cover the island, you can find the remains of buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. They were used for quarantine and as a prison. The latter was used until the second half of the 20th century, when members of the mafia and the Red Brigades were held there. Asinara donkeys live in the park, the population of which is almost entirely albinos.weniger
