The Archaeological Museum is housed in a former Dominican monastery and has pogate collections related to the Etruscan, Hellenistic and Roman periods of Perugia's history and the surrounding area.
Its collections have been gathered since the 18th century, when large-scale archaeological excavations began in the region. The main part of the collection is related to the funeral customs of the Etruscans, whose burial ground was discovered near Perugia. There are sarcophagi, cult items, urns, as well as tools and jewelry placed in the graves. In addition to the funeral collections, the museum houses everyday objects, jewelry and ancient architectural elements.weniger
