Schloss von Charles V

The castle was built in the mid-16th century at the behest of Charles V on the site of an earlier Normandy stronghold. It is a fortress that guarded the city from the land side and provided the safety of ships entering the port. To this day, the walls built on a five-sided plan have survived, from which you can admire the panorama of the city.
