Regionaler Naturpark Nebrodi

The largest natural protected area in Sicily. It covers the area of the so-called Sicilian Apennines, with peaks reaching 1,800 m above sea level. They are limestone mountains with a very diverse and impressive relief similar to the Dolomites. In their lower parts there are the largest forests in Sicily, and at the foot there are picturesque rivers, forming ponds and lakes here and there.
