The castle was built in the 12th century on the remains of a village church from the early Middle Ages. The complex has three towers and a moat surrounding the building. The Spanish Carroz family lived there between 1350 and 1511. It was later abandoned and used as a leper hospital during the plague epidemic. It currently serves as the Center of Art and Culture.
