Sant Emidio zu den Höhlen

The small temple is one of the most important monuments of the city. It is a valuable example of baroque religious art. It was built in honor of St. Emidio, over natural caves formerly used by Christians as a necropolis. It is one of the churches belonging to the "Emidian Itinerary" - a path connecting all places related to the tradition, miracles, life and martyrdom of the saint.
